Aug 23 – Eugene – Cowfish

Aug 24 – Ashland – MAda Shell Gallery

Were really excited to get on the road and share some new stuff!

If thats too far off in the future for you, August 8th we’re playing a kickin’ show at Rontoms with Mnemonic (who’s new CD is fucking chronic!) and Dat’r. It’s free, and its a Sunday night, which is the new Saturday.

EVEN MORE EXCITING – 4 mixes are done for our album, and artwork is being done, and cool shit is starting to happen. We REALLY want to play the mixes for you but don’t want to spoil the surprise, you really get more out of waiting for something, you know, like the whole concept of DEFERRED GRATIFICATION. Anyways fellow Portlanders (and world wide people), enjoy this great weather!

DPG liveHey All
So much news, A – we are playing a show on Thursday, at the freaking Doug Fir y’all!!!! We’re mega pumped, and so are the peeps playing with us, fucking FLESHTONE AND LOGAN LYNN…!!!! Holy crap, we’re pumped.

SO PUMPED, that we have a new volume of Mixtape out and about today!!! Wanna know where to get one, go to Fresh Pots, Mississippi Records, CD Game Exchange, Music Millenium, or Everday Music and scope the flier section, this one has got an exclusive remix of Guidance Counselor on it, and its pretty fun! We were really stoked on the art too, by our truest dearest Pamela. Also, our live show is going to be really dope, we’ve done some gussying up of our music, and you’ll be most pleased i’m sure.

Tracklist for new Mixtape:
1 Guidance Counselor – A23 (DPG Remix)
2 Don’t Call Back (I can make your bedrock mix)
3 I Heard You Do (DPG take 222)

Big News!!

Thursday, April 8th, 2010

Well first off, we just found out about a week ago that we’re going to get to play at the Passion Pit after party this Monday at the Someday Lounge (check the show page for deets)! We’ll be opening up for “Shuttle” (Drummer and Co-Producer for Passion Pit). It’s a bit of a late addition to our schedule, but it should be a bitchen night! If you’re out at the Passion Pit show then you’re not going to work the next day anyway so come check out the after party… It’s free to get in! :-)

In a second RAD piece of news a month or so ago DPG had the opportunity to record track with the Penny Jam folks. It was super dope, and they just got the session edited and up on their site. The video is below, but make sure to drop over to their site and check out all the other super cool acts that they’ve had play for them.

Stay cool everyone!

Heart Drive Crash…things to come!

Wednesday, April 7th, 2010

So we’re pretty stoked on the reception to the Heart Drive Crash Mixtape series we’ve started. Some love has started to show up on Last FM…people are starting to hear the remixes, the Weeklies have started to do some coverage, all in all, DOPE MIX TAPES BRA!!!!

To sweeten the deal, we’re trying to expand a lil’ bit beyond our own album, and invite some other artists into the fold. The above video is a little sneak peak of whats to come on volume 3, with us recording some drums for a Guidance Counselor Remix!!!!! OMG right!

More to come!

Hey All

Andy and myself have been plenty busy lately. Besides jammin’ on a Pzones and ghost riding the whip, we’ve been screening CDs, posters, remixing some stuff, recording, and most imprtantly, FOLLOWING OUR HEARTS…(meh…)

Seriously though, we have the 2nd installment of the 2nd volume of HDC out and around town. If you’re interested in checking it out, we’ve left copies at the following stores!!!

Albina Press (both locations)
Cd Game Exchange (Mississippi)
Mississippi Records
Everyday Music (both locations)
Jackpot Records (both locations)
Compound
Upper Playground

GO peep one out, the date and location is for our show this Tuesday at The Woods, we’re really freaking stoked on it because our dear friend from Cars and Trains will be playing the show with us, and he totally rules! The show will be badass, so come check it. ALSO, next post will have some exciting news about another remix Andy and I have been working on for a certain Portland band. We’re stoked, we hope they’re stoked, and we expect you to be stoked as well!
HyPhy,

Erik

Heart, Drive, Crash Vol. 2, and St. Paddy’s Day show at Holocene!

2010-03-11-13-59-14-copy

Erik and I just finished screening our new mix tape volume.  For those of you not in the know, we’ve been sonically doodling with some vocals and instrument tracks from the upcoming record as an outlet to the fun but tedious process of getting the thing tracked.

We’re calling these monthly doodle fests “Heart, Drive, Crash” and we’re probably going to have one a month coming out until the new record is finished.  Hope you enjoy the light hearted mixes as much as we enjoyed making them.

The design for this one to promote the show at Holocene was designed by our every talented friend of the band Pamela!  So dope.

Since Mac’s don’t read the CD Text that we’ve so carefully burned on each copy.  Here’s the track listing for ya’ll

1. J. Hollerday (DoublePlusGood Remix) – Breakfast Mountain

2. Fools Gold Loop Line

3. I Neon What you Want

4. I’d Die for Something Else

5. Super Living Room Trouper

We’ve distributed bunches of copies around town at some of our favorite places in the flier/handbill/free shit sections.  Go grab a copy and let us know what you think!

Tender Loving Empire – 1720 Northwest Lovejoy Street

Everyday Music – 1931 NE Sandy Blvd.

Jackpot Records – 203 Southwest 9th Avenue

Music Millenium – 3158 East Burnside Street

Albina Press – 4637 N Albina Ave

Holocene – 1001 Southeast Morrison Street

GET IT!!

Sunday, March 7th, 2010

Erik and I held up in a bomb shelter last night recording drums for the new record. These tracks will blow your mind! They did mine anyway. That room makes my drums sound like they’re going to collapse your lungs with the thump. Awesome.

After we were done we hit Mississippi Studio’s which was at capacity… Crow bar had beer. Good night.

To find a home…

Thursday, February 25th, 2010

This week started off a bit rocky as we caught wind that the venue we were scheduled at double booked the night, and the bill we were asked to be on got the boot! We canceled practice and to got work, and came out with a home for Friday night, thanks so very much to Backspace! The next task was taking all of our copies of our promo mix tape “Heart Drive Crash” that we custom screen printed and finding a way to update the info. Check out our solution… :-)

Fuck Dunes
Backspace Sticker
Yay Backspace
So now that we have the correct date we placed copies for your listening pleasure at some of our favorite record stores around town. Check the “hand bill/flyer” section at the following spots, and make sure to thank them at the counter for letting us leave a copy or ten for everyone to pick up.

Jackpot Records @ 203 SW 9th Ave
Backspace @ 115 NW 5th
Everyday Music @ 1931 NE Sandy Blvd.
Mississippi Records @ 4009 N Mississippi Ave

They’re free and they are the last copies of Vol. 1. We’ll have a few copies at the show Friday night, and we are hoping to have a whole new batch of remixes in time to get the word around about our show at Holocene for St. Patrick’s Day!

Until then come check out Rock Friends(Amanda Machina from King Black Acid), Us, and Quail Lungs tomorrow night Backspace!

Cheers!

Eugenious!!!

Monday, February 22nd, 2010

2010-02-20 16.09.05Man, Eugene, you know how to have a perfect lazy weekend. Even while totally productive, Andy and myself managed to have like 30 cups of coffee, 20 pints of beer, 3 burgers, 1 sweet life cake, and an amazing trip to Papa’s Soul Food kitchen, where we would have enjoyed a Big Ass Piece o’Cake, were it not for the big ass piece of pulled pork sandwich we had before it. AMAZING!!!

We played at CD World saturday to some enthusiastic and friendly folks, and then partied on Sunday with the Parson Redheads. It was a really fun show, since I played my first show ever with the Parsons 6 years ago. OMG RIGHT!

We passed out a ton of Heart Drive Crash, and left some at Sweet Life and Wandering Goat, so if you missed us while we were out and about (which was everyone! First sunny day in Oregon in months and no one was walking around in Eugene, weird) you can go to one of the aforementioned establishments and see if there are still some at the front.

BTW, do you know of this really  cool narrow club called Dunes? YOU DO! Awesome, because we’re totes playing there on Friday night. We have another special edition of Heart Drive Crash to pass out, so maybe you’ll see us around on Thursday or Friday! If you don’t know where Dunes is, its at1909 Northeast M L King Boulevard, and there’ll be a lot of video performances by some other acts too, in addition to yours truly!
