doubleplusgood-450x345

About a month ago on a rainy afternoon we had the pleasure of being on Portland’s own Sessions From the Box podcast.  It was lots of fun and a great idea for promoting local music.

In other day to day news, more mixtapes will be hitting the streets of Eugene, and Portland for our two upcoming shows at Sam Bonds Garage, and Dunes. before the month is out.  Up in march… Vol. 2?  Here’s some more DIY Porn :-)   P2150003

Ok that’s it for now.  See you all in Eugene soon!

Heart Drive Crash Vol1 Mixtape

January 29th, 2010
2010-01-29-12-39-40 So, your doubleplusgood record collection getting stale? Well, if you run into us on the streets of PDX (or maybe Eugene) you can grab our new mixtape, Heart Drive Crash. We’re stoked! 5 songs, 4 new tracks from our upcoming album remixed, and the DPG remix of Eskimo and Son’s track 2012!

They’re individually screen printed, and will be limited to only about 50 per each show that we’re playing throughout the next 3 months.

2010-01-29-13-00-39

Here’s some pics of the screening process, note the sweet teal color, we’re pretty happy with it! This month’s CD is pimping our show at backspace tomorrow! What? You didn’t know?!?!!? We’re playing a pretty rad show with

Jeffrey Jerusalem (who is releasing a remix cd tomorrow night) and Holocene Beat Off Champion (not what you might be thinking) Quiet Countries. Its going to be a good night, and perhaps one of the best parts is…ITS ALL AGES, so you folk that usually stay home on the weekends or drink in your dorm rooms can totally come on out to this! Dope show bra!

This was a hoot, that will be a hootnanny!

January 9th, 2010

Rotture was an awesome show! A cold show, but an awesome one none the less. We premiered some new songs, had a few beers, and ate some dope ass mac and cheese at Montage afterwards. Dope Mac Bro!
The following day we recorded our session in the box. I’m kinda bad at interviews (Andy is composed), so in a month you can hear audio clips of me rambling about stuff after a set of music. It was cool. Jambox studios was a really sweet place, and James Dineen was a real dude! Here’s a picture!
sessions
So the rest of the 1st 1/4 of the year is turning out to be quite the busy one. We have what will be an incredible show with Jeffrey Jerusalem and Quiet Countries at Backspace! That’s on the 30th, and you’ll know about that because Andy and I will be hitting the streets with a DPG mixtape (more on that later).
Feb we have 2 house shows, 2 venue shows, some radio shows, a penny jam, a trip to the moon, and an album to think about putting together. Oh my! Stick with us folks, its exciting times :)

Screening

December 20th, 2009
2009-12-05-15-19-03 We’re stoked! Andy and I (mostly Andy) have been working on making screen printing happen. Andy built a 4 color screen press, i helped make some screens, and together we’re trying to get this stuff dialed in. Here’s some pics from our time spent constructing all of this.

We’re having some problems with the emulsion and burning screens, but once it gets going, we’ll be a factory of all things screen printed! Posters, shirts, undies, you name it!

new year and beyond!

December 11th, 2009

rotture jan 7Forget Christmas presents, we’re already on to New Years resolutions! Our resolution, finish an album, play tons of shows, start a reality show, adopt a child from Africa, come out with a fragrance. At least 2/5 of those are true, and to kick off our new show schedule we’re playing a show with dear friends Mnemonic and Very International Love (note the trippy-as-fuck poster). Your New Years resolution could be to go to more concerts, and what better way to begin your comittment to the party life than a dance party at Rotture!

1 mississippi 2 mississippi 3 mississippi GO

November 26th, 2009

I thought I’d continue in Andy’s tradition of Mississippi related posts, especially since we have some sweet video content from the shows we did (thanks Warren and Pat!) Anyhoo, armed with a imovie and a remedial understanding of video editing, I’ve cut up a few clips from the footage we have! I hope you all are enjoying a pleasant Thanksgiving!

Best show this side of the Mississippi!

November 21st, 2009

Huge thanks to everyone that came to check out the show at Mississippi Studios! Dope venue, awesome sound, can’t wait to play there again. Anyone mind if I do a drummer geek out right about now? Good.

A couple days ago my buddy Patrick and I swung on down to Rhythm Traders to check out Benny Greb put on a clinic. He is one of the most creative drummers that I follow as of late. Pat took some footage and I was on the verge of losing my shit! We were 5 feet away from him, this don’t happen every day!

We’re on the edge of having enough material to start recording the new album so… begin eagerly awaiting :-) and also peep the calender in the next few days we’ve got some shows brewing.

Cheers

-Andy

Mississippi Studios on Thursday

November 15th, 2009

We can’t tell you how stoked we are to play Mississippi Studios. 1119Actually…We totally can, WE”RE FUCKING NUTS OVER THIS SHOW! Seriously dudes, we have some new songs to play, a lot of new friends to make, and a lot of asses to move.

Our new friends, Bombs Into You, are releasing a new cd, and we’re stoked on that. Our friends, Circuit Circuit (members of The Fast Computers and Blue Skies For Black Hearts) are playing too and we’re stoked on that too! This show will also mark Andy’s birthday, so you should come make him feel real special!

We swear, we’re working

November 8th, 2009

I know I’ve been talking alot about how we’ve been working on new material. Well here’s proof, and while it does sound like a lions roar, its not another one of those videos.

Anyways, just another quick plug that we will be playing at Mississippi Studios on the 19th of November, and then two days later we’ll be playing a super special house show that our friend Arya has put together with friend band Reporter and new friend band (hopefully, we havn’t met them yet, but they seem cool) Jeffrey Jerusalem. November is truly an exciting month, lots happening indeed! Like this, and this, and THIS!.
